MY THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
My approach is to work collaboratively with you. I believe that you have the answers and I will support you in finding them. Even if the base of my work is Person Centred, I also use different therapeutic approaches such as Psychodynamic, Gestalt, CBT, Mindfulness, Movement, and Embodiment techniques.
I am curious about my clients and I invite them to be curious about themselves. I have worked with different clients that have had similar experiences, who have found their healing through different methods. Therefore, I use different techniques and approaches to each client as one size does not fit all.


ABOUT ME
I am Yesenia de Caires, a Psychologist and Integrative Psychotherapist.
I have been supporting my clients with challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, body dysmorphia, perinatal loss, sexual abuse, stress, post-natal depression, separation, immigration among others.
I have worked with adults from all walks of life, and have experience with different cultures, genders and race.
I have also worked and volunteered in the charity sector and private sector, facilitating dance and movement meditation classes for groups of adults, as well as supporting children with special educational needs, and young adults.
INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
During our sessions, I aim to create a warm, professional space that exists just for you, where we will discuss and reflect on your perceptions, emotions, feelings and behaviours. A place with no judgements or preconceptions, enabling you to express and explore what you really feel and think, which a lot of my clients find liberating.
I offer a contained and safe space, which aims to facilitate the change that you want in your life. My priority is to create a therapeutic relationship, where clients feel that they are emotionally held and look after, invoking feelings of emotional and physical safety, which is a key to change and healing as our brains and bodies need to feel safe to look into our wounds and start a healing process.
I deeply believe that therapy can show clients that they are capable of improving their life. I am very passionate and optimistic about my profession and I feel honoured to share an authentic therapeutic space with my clients.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During our first session, we will talk about what brought you to therapy, your expectations, and we will explore together an approach that resonates with you. After this session, you would be able to decide if you want to start a therapy cycle with me. I work short-term, long-term and open-ended therapy, depending on the client’s needs and preferences. I usually see clients at the same time and day on a weekly basis, although if you feel that you need more or less sessions a week, I might be able to accommodate. Sessions last 50 mins.
